THE BLUE DOLPHIN
Welcome to the Terminale
pupils of 2009-2010!
REMEMBER : IN ENGLISH CLASS,
WE SPEAK ENGLISH!!
2) A game:
6) Test next Friday:
You have a test on Friday, Sept. 25th.
You will have to know how to present a text properly, and the vocabulary and structures seen during the study of the text. I will probably ask you to write a short essay, so revise your
basics (Golden Rules, tenses, and syntax).
7) Vocabulary Test:
You have a vocabulary test on Tuesday, December 15th. It will be on all the words in your notebook, the
irregular verbs, and the words in the chapter "Qualities and Shortcomings"
in the Blue Book, pp. 67-68.
Don't wait till the last minute to revise!!
8) Lesson test:
Your test is postponed to Monday, September 28th.
9) Recording:
Here is a link to the recording (= l'enregistrement) I have made of the extract we are studying in
class. Just click on the icon below:
Enjoy!
... Are you having difficulties? Just click on the bottle:
10)
Bring your notebooks in class during the test on
Monday.
11) Qualities and shortcomings:
Here is a link to a recording
(= l'enregistrement) I have made of many of the words on "Qualities and Shortcomings" in your blue vocabulary books (pp. 67-68). Just click on
the icon below:
Enjoy!
12) Absent teacher:
I was absent today, unfortunately. To catch up, I have scheduled a class for this coming Monday (=
j'ai planifié un cours pour ce lundi).
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Have a nice weekend, and see you on Monday 12th, at 8h30.
13) Monday, October 19th:
We will have class at 8:30 am, and not at 11:15.
14) Vocabulary:
Go here -
- for some vocabulary: in our current text, we have the word "homemaker". You will see the many compound words (= mots composés) with "maker".
15) Holiday Homework:
Revisions, revisions, revisions!!
Make them active by doing exercises (+ cf. § 4 above = ci-dessus), writing paragraphs (mind your golden rules, verb forms and syntax!!), and trying text
comprehensions.
16) Recording:
Here is a link to a recording of the last extract we studied in class (extract from Alice Sebold's The
Lovely Bones). Just click on the icon below:
17) Mock exam:
Good luck for your week of exams. Try to keep your teachers' sound pieces of
advice in mind - and to use them!
I want to do the subject of "Baccalauréat session 2008" and I would to know if you have the time to correct my exercise at the back school (rentrée).
Thanks for this exercise.
Please make a copy of the questions and the text, IF possible. Thanks. Have a nice holiday,
Mrs. C.
